Great action shot of a 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive roaring along a trestle bridge with a very long string of baggage and passenger cars. Originally built by Alco-Richmond in May of 1919 as Southern 4-8-2 Mountain type loco #1496. it was later renumbered as a Southern Rwy subsidiary, Cincinnati, New Orleans & Texas Pacific #6496, although the tender still carried the Southern label. The loco was retired and presumedly scrapped in November of 1951 after nearly 32 years of service to the Southern and its subsidiary. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo unfortunately so approximates were used.
