Rail fan Larry R. Stiles caught a view of the front end of MP GP38-2 #2127 with the white stripes on the "Dark Eagle Jenks" blue paint. The faded "buzz saw" logo under the cab window is barely readable even up close. The loco would eventually get the UP yellow/gray paint fairly soon.
Still looking fairly sharp in the "Dark Eagle Jenks" blue paint with white nose stripes and the screaming eagle loco under the cab window is Missouri Pacific GP38-2 #2157 caught by rail fan Larry R. Nice roster shot of former Monon Alco C420 #517 now wearing the Indiana Hi-Rail #1334. Inbetween, the loco also wore the L&N number 1334. Eventually the loco would be formally renumbered IHRC #334. The Indiana Hi-Rail Corporation only lasted from 1981 to 1998 before declaring bankruptcy. No photographer was listed for this color slide which is now part of my rr collection. As a Hoosier, I'm always glad to post an Indiana-related rr photo and it can't be much better than this since it includes a nod to my Hoosier Monon RR!
Fairly nice roster shot of Cedar Rapids & iowa City SW1200 #99 while it was working the Mt Vernon, IL, yard. Unfortunately, no photographer was listed for the color slide which is now part of my rr colleciton.

This rare photo of Indiana-Michigan Electric Co GE 100ton #3 industrial center cab switcher was taken by rail fan Thomas Larson Jr and in now part of my collection. The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company (a subsidiary of American Electric Power) operated a GE 100-ton center-cab switcher, numbered #3. Quebec North Shore and Labrador (QNS&L) SD40 #206 was an EMD-built locomotive that operated for the QNS&L railway in Canada, later becoming Canadian Pacific (CP) unit #5402. It was part of the heavy-duty, orange and yellow fleet used for hauling iron ore from Labrador City/Schefferville to Sept-Îles. By the mid-1970s, QNS&L began acquiring newer SD40-2 models, and many older units were eventually sold or retired. CP Rail purchased many of these secondhand units (including #206, renumbered CP 5402) to bolster its own heavy freight operations during periods of high demand. CP #5402 was then sold to Dakota, Minnesota & Eastern as their #6085. No exact location, date or photographer was given for the color slide which is now part of my rr collection.
