Number 9769 was completed in October 1930, body built by Pullman-Standard, equipped with a six cylinder 400 horsepower gasoline engine built by Electro-Motive Corporation ( serial number 460 ), and the electrical equipment was supplied by Westinghouse. It had controls at both ends and a 15 foot mail apartment. Although it contained no passenger accommodations, it was capable of pulling five or six cars. It was re-powered with a diesel engine at an unknown date. In its final years on the CB&Q it was assigned to yard engine duty. In February 1966 it was sold to Southern Industrial Railroad, Centerville, Iowa.
