Amtrak #4 is nearly on-time at Dallas City.
P39091 waiting to leave later in the morning
Despite having plenty more traffic coming on the Transcon, I decided to break away and head back to the Mendota Side for both Amtraks which were now coming into the picture. There was a tied down H-GALBRC1-15 sitting out at Bishop that I decided would make for a good prop of the first Amtrak, the eastbound California Zephyr passing. Like I mentioned before, it is impossible to catch every train going in and out of Galesburg, so I was a bit bummed that I was missing some of the traffic on the Transcon. But, when Amtrak 6 came out from behind the freight and I saw the leader was Amtraks Operation Lifesaver Unit, I knew I had made the right choice! A great catch!
