Metrolink. 853 is the helper on the rear of a passenger train southbound on the Union Pacific main line approaching a bicycle/pedestrian trail after passing under the US-101 / Ventura Fwy overpass.

In late 2009, Metrolink unveiled their new paint scheme. Fourteen months (or so) later, the line-up of power in San Bernardino features the new scheme on a majority of the power.

A pair of Metrolink trains await assignments in San Bernardino. Both are powered by EMD diesels - streamlined F59PHI 876 and boxier F59PH 853.
