Snowy morning surprise on train #223 as MKT #627 leads the way!
Behind the Parsons shop.
Just a few h‹ndred yards west of crossing the Brazos River....with the Pipeline bridge tower in the background. This was an N106, an as needed train from Eureka Yard that handled traffic for Bellmead Yard in Waco, Fort Worth, Ray Yard in Denison, Muskogee, Parsons, and Kansas City. It was scheduled to leave Houston at 1155AM and arrived in 18th St. Yard in Kansas City at 200PM.
Mixed freight N106 westbound from the Mlcak Road overpass, just east of San Felipe, between the Brazos River and Sealy. This is a westbound manifest on the Katy's Houston Sub. While the this track still sees trains they are locals only, as it has been cut off from Houston at Katy. SD40-2 #627 was part of Katy's 4th order for this modol and was delivered four years earlier, in August of 1980.
