Heading toward Altoona, PA is Conrail SD40-2R #6974. This loco has a long history. Built in February of 1966 as PRR SD40 #6058, it first slid over to the PC roster as PC #6058, then on to the Conrail roster as CR SD40 #6311, but was rebuilt as SD40-2R #6974. Eventually after the CR breakup, it became CSX SD40-2R #8875. No info was included with this large photo so the date is approximate.
