Its three weeks before Christmas and the rush is on. Conrail has all the stack traffic it can handle, and is running extra sections of stack trains to accommodate the heavy import traffic. This TV 200X is helping out at Great Bend PA, having just crossed from New York, rolling for Croxton.
An eastbound is rolling through CP 285 and into the west end of Dewitt as the TV 79 cools its heels waiting for it to clear.
A slightly different angle of a train seen elsewhere. CR had a big stable of 4 axle GEs that were common on these trains, especially on the Chicago Line, which was ideal for them. Three do the honors here on a 65 car TV 79.
TV 79 smokes past the station at Dewitt, rolling on into the setting sun behind a typical intermodal power set of that era.
