The Waterloo Central train passed us by on its southbound leg before returning to pick us up for our trip north.
The Waterloo Shops have done a great job bringing back the shine to the fluted sides of the nearly 68 year Budd car.
Close up of the car number.
The first car in the 3-car consist was a refurbished Budd RDC9 car orginally built by Budd in December of 1956 as Boston & Maine #6925 (serial #6426). It passed through several rosters (CN D-506 / CN 6006 / VIA 6006 / DAWX 6006 / private 6006), before landing on the Southern Ontario Locomotive Restoration Society (SOLRS)/Waterloo Central roster. It was converted to a dining/parlour car in the autumn of 2019 by the SOLRS/WCRX team.
