MILW 2-8-2 Mikado #480 and its hundreds of sisters have proved that they were a reliable and versatile power on the Milwaukee Road roster. Baldwin, 9/1923, nee-CMStP 2-8-2 #8380 (serial #57082, L-sb class) > renumbered in July of 1938 to MILW 480. The loco served for 32 years before being scrapped in December of 1955. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb and tractive force of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed for this photo which is now in my collectin. |
