Although it doesn't show, Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #477 only has a few months left of service before meeting up with the scrapper's torch. Baldwin, 9/1923, nee-CMStP 2-8-2 #8377 (serial #57064, L-sb class) > renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 477. The loco served for 31 years before being scrapped in October of 1954. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb and tractive force of 54,723 lb. This is an R. Donald Ross photo in my collection. |

Having served the Milwaukee Road for nearly 31 years, it's sad to see it now sitting in the scrap line at one of its namesake cities, Milwaukee. Baldwin, 9/1923, nee-CMStP 2-8-2 #8377 (serial #57064, L-sb class) > renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 477. The loco served for 31 years before being scrapped in October of 1954.
