Sadly, Milwaukee Road 2-8-2 Mikado #476 now sits in the scrap line at the St Paul, MN, yard. Interesting that the bells, number board and headlight have not been removed yet. Baldwin, 9/1923, nee-CMStP 2-8-2 #8376 (serial #57063, L-sb class) > renumbered in June of 1938 to MILW 476. The loco served for 32 years before being scrapped in December of 1955. Specs - 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,770 lb and tractive force of 54,723 lb. No photographer was listed for this photo which is now in my collection. |
