The engineer of Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific 4-8-4 #5113 is dwarfed in his window by the massive size of the locomotive. Built by Alco-Schenectady in June of 1946 (serial #74369), the loco barely served for 7 years before being retired and sold for scrap in August of 1953. What a waste of money to have served that short of a time! Specs - class 66B (R-67), coal burner, 74" drivers, impressive 270 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine wt of 475,000 lb and tractive force of 67,-00 lb.
