Here is a sharp looking 2-8-0 Consolidation built by Rhode Island (pre-ALCo membership) in July of 1901 originally as Colorado & Southern #465 (serial #3306) but renumbered CS #605 in June of 1906 and classified as B-4R. It was later rebuilt in 1927. After an impressive 59 years on the CW roster, is was unceremoniously sold for scrap in December of 1960.Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine wt of 194,180 lb and tractivce force of 41,369 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used.. |
