After chasing some ships on the Welland Canal it was back to Port Robinson yard to watch Train 562 in action.
Big blue sky shot of Train 562 in action at Port Robinson yard. That hazy sky is airborne ash from Quebec forest fires that will linger for 2 months.

Trains comes forward; train goes back. Why does that just seem to work so well for me?
Another day, and another shot at Train 562 working the yard.

After waiting for the CN container train from the previous series of photographs, a CN through freight crosses N. Lake St. as it heads northwest via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI on 12 Dec. '18. A sliver of Eggers Industries, 164 N. Lake St., an active rail customer, is partially visible beyond the train at left.

Eggers Industries, 164 N. Lake St., Neenah, WI, a rail customer, is partially visible at right. Founded at Neenah, WI, in 1910 as Hardwood Products Co., construction of the facility commenced in Oct. ’10. It was renamed Hardwood Products Corp. as a result of a merger with Mississippi Veneer & Lumber Co. on 20 Apr. ’22 (the latter company was formed by the same businessmen who founded the Neenah company). Eggers Industries acquired Hardwood Products Corp. in 1965 and renamed it Eggers Hardwood Products Corp. Eggers was founded by Fred W. Eggers at Two Rivers, WI in 1884 to make wood baskets used by farmers. They later started making plywood and other wood veneer products. There used to be 3 spurs to service the facility, now there is only 1.
Built September 2007.
Oil empties from the south roll around the loop at Matteson at 0715.
31T rolls north along NY 7 near Stillwater with 57 cars. Hell head west on the Tier after a crew change at East Binghamton.
31T rolls past Hiawatha Rd in Owego following the corn harvest, leaving the field with only stubble. Now I wont have to stand on the roof of the car to get the shot over the corn.
The bright red of sunlit CN power contrasts against the yellow of the last Erie semphore standing as 31T works 83 cars west.

The days are getting chilly, and a warm fire in the fireplace is welcome after a day out in the cold waiting for trains. 31T rolls past a field and some logs that will be great for warming up.
31T rolls north with 57 cars, crossing Martins Creek, and US 11, built on the DLW "Old Road" which passes underneath.
The friendly Canadian National.
CN through freight, with a friendly engineer at the controls, crosses Dixie Rd. as it heads northeast via former SOO rails at Town of Vinland, Winnebago Co., WI on 7 Jun. '15. The turnout for Dixie Siding, a remnant of former C&NW main line, is out of frame to the right.
Trailing is a recently repainted C40-8. This train had two mid-train DPU motors, including an IC SD70, but I was caught by surprise after packing up and driving north alongside it, so no photo.
