The color was much nicer the other direction so we spun around and grabbed the train going away as well.
Once we made it over to the other side, South Shore was next to send a train. But, not the passenger special, rather a regular passenger train, CSS 7 heading for the South Bend Airport, exiting Hudson Lake
CSS&SB 19 and 26 at the Randolph Street Station in Chicago, Illinois on March 15, 1983, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 19 was built by the Pullman Car and Manufacturing Company during 1927 as a 61 foot coach, lengthened by the South Shore during 1945 to 78 feet. Number 26 was built by Nippon Sharyo in 1982-83 and was destroyed in a head-on collision with Nippon Sharyo built 17 at Gary Indiana on January 21, 1985. Both cars were replaced by the NICD in 1992 with new cars assigned the same road numbers.
