BNSF Railway (BNSF) 2973 - Rebuilt EMD GP39V

Working on a tie train with a car topper (John Deere with a grapple). 3rd unit in the consi~t. Leading was a Santa Fe SD45-2. (Date is correct)

This is the only Heritage I GP39M that was a former GP30 I have ever seen, it looks pretty good in this scheme

Didn't have to crop this one like I did with the roster shot of lead unit 1544. Came out perfect as is!

Amazing to relate, BNSF 1544 is an ex-Northern Pacific unit! Good thing I came back with my camera after passing this train on my bike a few hours earlier. What a prize! They have in tow a string of COFC baretables, stretching back almost to the western end of the siding in Long Lake.

In this shot, three spartan cab survivors on the BNSF wait for the next call to duty. This was a welcomed sight in the sea of surrounding GEs.
