Took me a while to figure out this mystery. Shot this picture from the AMTK Southwest Chief passing Belen. Always thought this unit was TPW 3463. TPW 3463 doesn't show up on any locomotive roster. Just found out that this was a ATSF "patched" unit. The patched part is just the style of the numbers painted on the cab. TPW traded in some ALCO RS-2's for this order of GP35's hence the ALCO trucks. |
