Here's the whole M&E roster circa 1984: the 14 is idling behind the caboose, the 15 and soon to be 17 to the left, the 16 in the enginehouse and the future 18 and 19 as TP&W units.

M&E was acquiring Alcos wherever they could get them in the early 80s, and had picked up a pair of C 424s from the TP&W, which had gone all EMD. This one was fixed up and renumbered, the other went for parts. I got there just a little too late for full sun on the unit, so this is one of those "close but no cigar" shots, but I'll take it. I never saw TP&W's Alcos in action
