Description:	Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-0 Class K-2 630, date, location and photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 630 was built by the Rogers Locomotive And Machine Works in September 1892 as B&MR 302 (c/n 4766), renumbered into the CB&Q system as 630 and classed as K-2. It was retired in November 1946. The date (December 1, 1944) and location (Lincoln, Nebraska) were chosen based on information in the December 1, 1944 CB&Q Locomotive Assignment Sheet, which shows this locomotive assigned to the Lincoln Division. Based on the wide space between the domes, position of the bell, and what appears to be a platform in the space between the domes, I would speculate that this locomotive was once used in commuter service. The space and platform were for the Curtis steam turbine generator to power the train lighting, likely removed and applied to the more powerful Pacific type locomotives later used in commuter service.

Number 5617 was assembmed by the CB&Q at West Burlington, Iowa, completed September 23, 1937, using components supplied by various manufacturers (boiler by Baldwin). The locomotive was condemned on March 30, 1860, sold for scrap in September 1960 without tender to Chicago Coupler Sales Company, the tender was sold to Northwestern Steel and Wire Company.

Description:	This Baldwin 50 ton electric steeplecab built in October of 1920 (serial #53785) began as Youngstown & Ohio River 7 before being purchased by the Omaha, Lincoln & Beatrice Rwy. It lasted on the shortline until being sold to the Cornwall Electric Street Ry in 1950 as Cornwall Electric #11. The steeplecab somehow eventually found its way to the Ohio Rwy Museum in 1972 where it is preserved. R.L. Rumboltz photo

Description:	Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-0 Class K-10 960 at Lincoln, Nebraska on an unknown date in 1952, photograph by Dick Rumbolz, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 960 was built by Rogers in April 1900 as B&MR 56 ( c/n 5525 ), renumbered in 1904 to CB&Q 2-6-0 Class H-4 1238, rebuilt by the CB&Q at Havelock, Nebraska in August 1908 to 4-6-0 Class K-10 960, sold for scrap in September 1953. An interesting note about the Rogers Locomotive and Machine Works ( later, a subsidiary of Alco ); the Works did not have a direct rail connection. The nearest railroad was the Erie, about a mile from the factory. The finished locomotives were hauled through the city of Patersonn New Jersey, first on temporary tracks laid in the streets and pulled by teams of as many as 20 horses. Later, when streetcars were operating in Paterson, heavy flatcars were used, again using "horsepower".

According to the publication, Burlington Passenger Car Roster, by William Glick, Number 9840 was converted to passenger-baggage car 3666, and in October 25, 1963, became a building in Denver, Colorado.

Description:	Estimated to be shot in the later 1950s, looking due north. The shiny observation cars are part of the Zephyr. A CB&Q doodlebug can be seen parked by the station to the right. UPRR's depot would have been out of frame to the left and the CNW and MoPac facilities are hidden behind the CB&Q station continuing to the right.

Title:	CB&Q PMC 9730
Description:	Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad PMC (Passenger Motor Car) 9730 at an unknown location (best guess, Lincoln, NE) on an unknown date, photo by Dick Rumbolz, Chuck Zeiler collection. I based the location on locations typical of Dick Rumbolz, from whom I purchased the negative of this photo. The date is based on the scrapping date as listed in the book, Burlington In Transition, by Bernard G. Corbin and Joseph C. Hardy. Number 9730 was built by Pullman in August 1928 as CB&Q 730. It was powered by an EMC Winton 275 horsepower gasoline engine (serial 297). In June 1930 it was renumbered to 9730. It was scrapped (according to the book) in February 1955. At least two former gas-electrics were turned into crew locker rooms at yards around the system by removing the trucks and dropping them down where convenient.
