4-8-2 on stock train

Description:

Train passing through the Desfiladero de Pancorbo. Stock car train is heard by a 4-8-2. This first of these locomotives was built by Hannoversche Maschinenbau-A.G. in Germany in 1925. Rest were built in Spain by Euskalduna, Babcock & Wilcox and La Maquinista between 1927 to 1930. The engines were used on express trains and fast freights. Photo by the late Robert F. Collins and published in Marquetren in 2010.

Freight

Description:

Typical freight train in the 60’s headed by a Mikado 2-8-2 type. The track had the rail welded, first step before the electrification (1.500V CC) between Burgos and Miranda de Ebro, that took four years for completion. Photo at Pancorbo. Photo made by the late Robert F. Collins and appeared in my article "RENFE 1964 Valencia y Pancorbo in Maquetren in late 2010. (Not that I speak or write Spanish. It was translated.)
