With two cars of plate steel head out this coal train, powered by two 4 bangers works up the Turtle Creek Valley.

West bound going under the Westinghouse , Union RR, and new bypass bridges on the Pittsburgh main.

Amtrak 43, Pennsylvanian, passes the Westinghouse Air Brake Company.

This was one of the first trains I caught after I got to Wilmerding.

Two former Conrail SD40-2s head towards Pitcairn after helping a train come down from Altoona. I love the flexicoil trucks on those SD40-2s.

You can see how the tracks are super elevated on the curve at Wilmerding. This is looking east towards Pitcairn.

Looking west towards the town of Turtle Creek. I love those Pennsy style signals, they look so cool at night.

This is why I loved the gon trains when I was out there, they always had two former Conrail SD40-2s on the end. The last unit is NS 3333. If you look on the right, you can see the tail of a stack train that is arriving at Pitcairn.

Amtrak rolls past Wilmerding on a muggy summer day. Back in Wilmerdings prime, there was a station that served five tracks right in the area that the second passenger car is at. Now there are only four tracks here and no traces of the station. This is picture #500 for me on RRPA.

Two ex Conrails lead a gon train through Wilmerding

One of my last trains I shot this day rolls past Wilmerding with a C40-8 trailing.

This is one of my early NS pictures, and even though its a little dark, I'm happy how it turned out. Three NS C40s round the curve as they head off towards Altoona.
