Westbound action. 6774 was last M1A built by Altoona & last steamer built until duplexes arrived." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6774 is an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during November of 1930 and retired in February of 1956 after 26 years of faithful service. Brad Mann Collection.

Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7139 and two more units whose numbers are not recorded. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7139 was built in June of 1957. They're passing MIFFLIN Tower with a mixed-cargo freight train destined for the Enola Yards. WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #2516 and three other units whose numbers are not recorded. #2516 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound TrucTrain near Mifflin, Pennsylvania. Note the fisherman standing between the tracks!

Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6060 and #6505. #6060 is an EF-30A built by GM-EMD in February of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower, while #6505 was constructed by GE in April of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' past MIFFLIN Tower with a freight train bound for the Enola Yards. ("PrrFan18n")
