Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 #638 started out as CNW #1638 (serial #62704, class E), built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921. The loco was upgraded with an added stoker in 1943, a Walschaert valve gear added in 1947 and renumbered in 1951-52 to CNW #638. It was last listed on the 10/1/1952 before disappearing, presumedly scrapped. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now part of my rr collection. |

CNW 4-6-2 #633 - Chicago & North Western |
| Description: |
This 4-6-2 Pacific type steam locomotive was built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921 originally as CNW #1633 (serial #62699, class E). It had several upgrades along the way (added stoker, Waschaert vale gear, bp increased) and in 1951-51, it was renumbered to CNW 633. The loco lasted on the roster as long as 10/1/1952 before eventually disappearing later, presumedly scrapped. According to the date on this photo, it lasted at least to 1954. No photographer was listed for this photo which is now part of my rr collection. |

CNW 4-6-2 #631 - Chicago & North Western |
| Description: |
It appears that CNW 4-6-2 #631 may be sitting in a storage line at the West Chicago Yard. It was originally built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921 as CNW #1631 (serial #62697, class E). After several upgrades, the initial "1" was dropped making it CNW 4-6-2 #631 in 1951-52. It stayed on the roster through 10/1/1952 but was presumedly scrapped after that. The photo date shows it made it into 1954. No photographer was listed for this photo which is now part of my rr collection. |

| Description: |
Still looking like its going strong is Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 #629 built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1921 originally as CNW #1629. It went through several upgrades including an added stoker in 1942 and converted to a Walschaert valve gear in 1945. In 1951-52, CNW dropped the initial #1" so it became CNW #629. It was last seen on the roster in 10/1/1952. Obviously it lasted until at least 1955! No photographer was listed for this photo which is now part of my rr collection. |

Alco-Schenectady built this steam locomotive in March of 1921 originally as Chicago & North Western 4-6-2 Pacific #1636 (serial #62702, class E). The loco had several upgrades during the years (added stoker, Walschaert valve gear, increased boiler pressure) and in 1951-52, it was renumbered CNW #636. The loco lasted to the 10/11952 roster but disappeared after that, presumedly scrapped. This photo proves it made it into 1955. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now part of my rr collection. |
