CBQ 0-8-0 #553 - Chicago, Burlington & Quincy
Description:
This yard switcher has an interesting history. Baldwin originally built this loco as Great Northern 2-6-6-2 #1907 (serial #32724, classL-1) in March of 1908. It was immediately sold to the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy in the same year to become CBQ 2-6-6-2 #4002 (class T-1 compound). The CBQ Denver Shops rebuilt the compound loco in July of 1927 into CBQ 0-8-0 #553. It lasted until being sold for scrap in December of 1948. Rebuilt specs - 56" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, engine wt of 256,300 lb and tractive force of 60,700 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.

CBQ 0-8-0 #552 - Chicago, Burlington & Quincy
Description:
Baldwin built this steam locomotive in November of 1909 originally as the massive Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 2-6-6-2 #4005 (serial #34020, class T-1-A). The compound steam loco was rebuilt by the CBQ Denver shops in May of 1927 to an 0-8-0 configurationand renumbered CBQ #552. The rebuilt loco lasted until being sold for scrap in December of 1948. Rebuilt specs - 56" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, engine wt of 256,300 lb and tractive force of 60,700 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.

CBQ 0-8-0 #554 - Chicago, Burlington & Quincy
Description:
Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 0-8-0 #554 has led an interesting life. Originally built by Baldwin in November of 1909 as CBQ 2-6-6-2 Mallet #4007 (serial #34029, class T-1-A compund), it was rebuilt by the CBQ's own Denver Shops into CBQ 0-8-0 #554 (class F-2) in August of 1927. The yard switcher lasted another 20 years before being scrapped in August of 1947. Rebuilt specs - 56" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x32" cylinders, engine wt of 256,300 lb and tractive force of 60,700 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.

Alco-Brooks built this solid 0-8-0 yard goat in May of 1919 as Chicago, Burlington & Qunicy #544 (serial #61237, class F-1). It served the CBQ for nearly 35 years before being sold for scrap in April fo 1954. Specs - 52" drivers, 175 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 214,000lb and tractive force of 50,060. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.
