Burlington Northern GP9 #1959 was built by EMD in January of 1954 as Chicago, Burlington & Quincy GP9 #274. Upon the merger, it was renumbered BN 1959 and then later sold to Copper Basin Rwy as their #208. Current status is unknown but with the longevity of most GP9's, I would bet its still working! The photo was taken by rail fan Evans and is now in my rr collection. |

| Description: |
Standing alone in the Missoulu, MT yard on this wintry day is Burlington Northern GP9 #1758. The loco was built in January of 1958 as Northern Pacific GP9 #348. Upon the merger, it was first renumbered BN 1758, then rebuilt & renumbered BN GP28M #1529 and finally onto the BNSF roster as #1529. It was spotted in 2023 now wearing the BNSF orange/yellow/black paint scheme and still working for the BNSF after nearly 65 years so far! This color slide was taken by rail fan A. Burns and is now in my rr collection. |

| Description: |
Standing in the massive BN yard in Springfield, MO, is high nosed Burlington Northern GP9 #1851. It was built in June of 1955 originally as Northern Pacific GP #225 but was renumbered on the merger first to BN 1851 > to rebuilt BN GP28M #1533 > finally to BNSF GP28M #1533. Like so many GP9's, it was still working the rails in 2022 after nearly 63 years so far. The color slide was taken by rail fan Jones and is now part of my rr collection. |
