Album Info:East Penn Railroad, in association with Toys for Tots and Operation Toy Train ran a boxcar and caboose behind GP10 #1776, freshly repainted red, white & blue for the 250th USA Anniversary. The newly painted inside and out caboose carried Santa from Oxford PA to ESPN headquarters at Kennett Square, with several stops along the way. Perfect weather brought out good sized crowds to see the Big Man, lots of toy donations to the cause and multitudes of chasers.

Description:  Originally established as The Ashmun Institute, Lincoln University received its charter from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on April 29, 1854, making it the nation's first degree-granting Historically Black College and University. The Philadelphia and Baltimore Central Railroad built through here in 1860 and started using this building as a station stop for the college. The Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore soon leased the P&BC and in 1881 the line was included in the PRR purchase of the PW&B.
