Former NdeM Camp Car |
| Description: |
Heres something I hoped was still here. This is a former NdeM Camp car with the original numbers still intact camping outside of the historic Santiago De Queretaro Station. Unfortunately when I went back here in July of 2025 it is no longer there anymore. |

History of the abandoned Electrification line From Queretaro to Mexico City. |
| Description: |
Around 1980s the Mexican Government introduced the Mexico City - Queretaro Double Electrified Line for the Nacionales De Mexico (NdeM) for high speed freight and passenger service. For power, NdeM purchased 39 E60C-2 from General Electric in the United States for their electrification project. NdeM rebuilt the line to make this project successful. The project was suspended for about 10 years due to changes in their track layout, budget cuts and operating policies. After the suspension, service finally began in 1994 but not for very long. Besides privatization of the railroad, it has been reported that during its service, there has been numerous train collisions most likely caused by human error at the time, and even the fact it was double track, It had to share their tracks with other trains making it not suitable for high speed passenger trains. Another reason why it was discontinued is there wasnt enough clearance for double stack and autorack trains occupying the same track. When TFM took over the line, they removed the overhead lines to make clearance for their trains. |

The Empress at Queretaro |
| Description: |
One of the most historic moments in Mexico was seeing The Empress highballing towards Mexico City. The country has not seen a steam locomotive since at least the 1970s when diesel electric locomotives took over railroad operations. Just about any railfan spot you could think there was hundreds of people waiting for the steam locomotive. The crowds were so large local law enforcement could not control the spectators. Where I was standing at it is a very rural town surrounded with only a couple of people. Here we see The Empress passing through control point Chichimequillas on Linea BC in CPKC tracks standing next to NdeM era searchlights, just north of the state capital. I was very lucky to find a whatsapp group chat that provided updates regarding the steam locomotive and after arriving my spot, I only sat here for about 2 and half hours after departed San Luis Potosi capital in that morning. The same day the steam locomotive arrived into Mexico City wasted no time to get to their final destination before evening hours. |

EB Intermodal |
| Description: |
This was my first time railfanning here and my first train capture. This unit was most likely rebuilt at Fort Worth Wabtec plant and it was shipped to Mexico in primer. This unit was painted in Ferromex "Zebra" colors not too long ago. At this time it is my understanding all FXE rebuilds that were shipped in primer are now repainted. |

Special Livery in Mexico |
| Description: |
More locomotives at Queretaro Yard. After the CPKC merger, Ive been witnessing more CP than KCS on ready track yards and on trains, even leading sometimes in my opinion. What suprised me the most during my visit is seeing the Every Child Matters locomotive. I was not expecting to see it at all during my tour. I guess I matter too. |
