Four fairly nice b&w photos of some rarer Chicago, Burlington & Quincy freight cars in 1970-71.
Rare 8-door auto parts boxcar. CBQ only had 8 of these cars on their roster - #15100-15107. Thanks to Chuck Zeiler for the detailed info he posted on this series of cars. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.
Here is another fairly rare boxcar. Built by Pullman Standard in October of 1967, it was one of only 15 cars (#19825-19839). equipped with Hydroframe cushion underframes and Evans DF2 loader devices. The label "Hydraulic Cushioning" refers to the Hydroframe cushion that CBQ used to create smoother rides wtih less freight damage. Thanks to Chuck Zeiler for the detailed info he posted on this series of cars. No photographer listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.
Here is another interesting and fairly rare boxcar. Built by Pullman Standard in October of 1967, it was one of only 15 cars (#19825-19839). equipped with Hydroframe cushion underframes and Evans DF2 loader devices. This car has been repainted covering up the "Hydraulic Cushioning" label abnd "Burlington Route" logo on the right side of the door. Strangely this car has been freshly repainted after only 3 years covering up the "Hydraulic Cushioning" label abnd "Burlington Route" logo on the right side of the door. Maybe those missing items would be reapplied later in the blank area. Thanks to Chuck Zeiler for the detailed info he posted on this series of cars. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.
Interesting "whale belly" covered hopper. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now in my rr collection.
