Compared with the BNSF Railway, CSX is pretty boring when it comes to paint schemes. True, they have a few different ones, but they're typically all combinations of blue, yellow, and maybe silver (unlike BNSF, which runs everything from orange and black to red and silver to blue and yellow due to all its mergers). However, on this trip to Fredericksburg, I caught a special design - 1827, painted in a special B&O scheme. Coincidentally, I caught this not once, but twice--headed south on 12/19 and south again on 12/26. A welcome change from the usual...even if it was still blue and yellow. Enjoy!
Caught a treat at the head of this one!
1827 is a B&O tribute! CSX came from a merger of the Chessie System and the Seaboard Air Line; the Chessie System was in turn a merger of the B&O and the C&O.

Amtrak 43362. This may be from the AC Coolant system. Don't worry; it's not wastewater!
Sometimes you see them with two engines, even though one is sufficient for a train of this length!

Not actually a Northeast Regional because there is a baggage car clearly visible behind it, but these cars are used on all the trains on the East Coast.
