Galesburg Railroad Days 2015

Author: Matthew Schimmel

This album will cover my trip to Galesburg, Illinois for their Railroad Days Festival. Day 1 - Started out with heavy rain and a strong breeze. Not a lot of traffic running due to many of the flooded rail lines / wash outs that head into Galesburg. There were some neat catches and a lot of BNSF orange. Day 2 - Very sunny and warm, the best line around for action was the Chillicothe Sub., so I stuck around there and watched the stacks roll through town. Day 3 - The day was partly cloudy and at times had some sunny moments. Many of the lines were still slow due to flooding and wash out troubles so we stuck to the BNSF Chillicothe Sub., which did not disappoint. Managed a bunch of cool catches including some of the stored SD70Mac's & SD75's, a Tier 4 demonstrator, CEFX leaser, CSX power....a lot of CSX power and the usual BNSF high priority stacks. Day 4 - I didn't stick around much on Monday morning but did manage to catch few neat items. Also stopped by Cameron, Illinois and caught a coal load on the Ottumwa Sub. and a tied down grain on the BNSF Chillicothe Sub. More pictures to come through out the weekend. Enjoy and thanks for taking a look!
