Originally built by EMD in July of 1966 as Kentucky & Indiana Terminal SW1500 #68, it slid over to the Southern Ry as their #68 before finally landing on the WC roster around 1994. This color slide was taken by rr photographer Paul Wester and is now part of my rr collection.

Two Wisconsin Central SW1500s, wearing paint of corporate owner Canadian National, pause at the Stevens Point yard in between assignments
A pair of sequentially numbered cows, WC 1559 and WC 1558, rest at the CN, former SOO, yard at Stevens Point, WI on 19 May '15. WC 1559's paint job looks pretty darn fresh, the setting sun shining on the bright red paint really made it really stand out. Another pair of WC cows stand a couple of hundred feet out of frame to the left.
WC 1563 & 1559 pass GTW 6221 & IC 3137 (hidden behind the WC pair) as they return to work at the Stevens Point yard.
WC 1559 heads toward its next assignment at the Stevens Point yard
Recently refurbished Wisconsin Central SW1500 #1559 is paired with sister 1563, which holds on to its maroon & gold WC paint. The pair is seen returning to work at the Stevens Point yard.
WC 1559 begins to move again as I was able to take the shot with a Wisconsin Central boxcar on one end of 1559 with a Canadian National boxcar on the other end to show a transition stage of what has become of the Wisconsin Central.
