Kansas City Southern (KCS) 7008 - EMD SD50

We see the side dump cars that are carrying the rock for to stabilize the right of way at the flood site. An SD 50 and ES44 have the train.

This rock train was in the siding at Siloam Springs, ready to go south to dump its load of rip rap when the track work was done.

Was built as Conrail #6812 in January 1986

Delivered to Conrail in January 1986 as CR 6812, to PRR/NS 5466, NREX 5466, and finally joining KCS as 7008.

A KCS welded rail train spends the weekend parked in West Plano. The SD50 looks like a typical KCS diesel but this locomotive was originally built in 1985 for Conrail.

Placing a box beside your head (and between you and the locomotive) is not the smartest way to cross in front of a freight train. The train was just starting up when this guy jogged in front of the train.
