Description:  Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9847 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9847 was constructed in May of 1952. In this context, this A-B set is powering a wintertime passenger train. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded.

Description:  17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 April 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9847, #7195-B, #9675, and #9855. All were built by GM-EMD. #9847 and #9855 are EFP-15's and rated at 1,500 horsepower: #9847 was built in May of 1952 while #9855 was built in June of 1955. #7195-B is an EFS-17M built in December of 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #9675 is an EF-15A built in June of 1949, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966. They're just passed under the 17th Street Bridge with 25 gondolas loaded with pipes destined for the Alaska Pipeline.

Description:  8th Street. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 14 February 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9682 and #9847. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9682 is an EF-15A built as an EH-15 in February of 1949, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15A, and retired in November of 1965. #9847 is an EFP-15 built in May of 1952. In this context, they're passing under the 8th Street Bridge into the Westbound Receiving Yard with 100 empty coal cars and N-8 cabin car #478213.
