Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8969, a BS-16M built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in June of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, it's shifting some cars just short of the 8th Street Bridge in Juniata. Note the "tell-tales" dancin' in the breeze! |
