| Description: |
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6306 and #6303. Both are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in March of 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each. They are pushing a westbound mixed-cargo freight and are about to pass under the 12th Street Footbridge. The road number of the newly-rebuilt N-5 cabin car is not recorded. In the right foreground, the westbound ore train headed by engine #6011 continues to rumble on. Note the Blue & White Lines passenger bus parked in the left distance. (#21 of 44) |
