Im standing on the ghost of the LV, the right of way that carried the former LV main line to Buffalo, as a NYSEG coal train rolls through what was Van Etten Jct as it makes its way to Ithaca.
TV 301 rolls through the semaphores at Tioga Center on a foggy morning typical of fall in the Tier. The eastbound board appears to be at stop.
An early October morning finds TV 301 heading west at Hiawatha Rd in Owego, passing signal 233-1, which wouod be removed when the new radio alarm detector was installed at Tioga Center a few years later. If you look closely, you can see the extra light below the main head. This light diplays "hot box" if the detector at Campville, MP 230, gets a hit on a hot axle, and would set the signal red. I only saw it happen once.
