Chicago Burlington & Quincy (CBQ) 5631 - BLW 4-8-4

Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-8-4 Class O-5-A 7631 at Galesburg, Illinois on October 2, 1955, photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 5631 was assembled by the CB&Q at West Burlington, Iowa, completed in July 1940, retired and donated to Sheridan, Wyoming in February 1962.

CB&Q 5631 is one of only four surviving O5A 4-8-4s and is a sister to the famed 5632. It is currently on display by the BNSF tracks through Sheridan.

I was 12 when I took these photos of this loco. I didn't catch the "Mad Dog 20-20" abbreviation until years later. (date approximate)

Taken on family vacation to Wyoming, date approximate. This along with several passenger cars & caboose were on display at the north side of the Wyoming State Fairgrounds.
