The brass bell stands ready to ring on this restored loco like it did for many, many years of service.
The side marker glows golden yellow on this beautifully maintained locomotive.
Known as "Old Number One" at the museum, this 4-6-0 was built by the Columbus, Chicago & Indiana Central Railway in Logansport, Indiana in 1882. It worked its way on several lines but eventually came back to the Clinchfield Railroad as a tourist train until 1979. Nice white face!

Back in the days when there was a siding by College Park Airport, Clinchfield #1 was stationed for display during an open house at the airport. (date approximate)
Clinchfield #1 leads a short northbound, approaching Johnson City, TN. This trip to St. Paul and back was billed as "Pure Steam on the Clinchfield".
