UP 6496

UP 6496 leads the IG3OA west through Hershey. This train had the 1988 leading but it had electrical issues and was set out at Bailey.

Lead unit on a southbound coal train, in Bettendorf, IA; 7-29-11. I've retouched the original photo, which had a darker overall tone. The trucks aren't green but that's a side effect of the coloration, etc. The train headed out just minutes after I took this photo.

UP 6496 leads a westbound coal train on the former D&RGW Craig Branch, passing Finger Rock, located just east of Phippsburg, Colorado.

The DPU passes some new crossing planks which I hope KCS installs here. One rough crossing.
