Brock Kerchner	General	After searching the web for Conrail Office Car Special Photos I wanted to reach to you: Over 15 years ago I started writing a book on the Conrail Office Car Special (CR OCS). After I had done much of the research life got too crazy and I put it on hiatus. After seeing the new CR Caboose book by Rudy Garbely, it is time to pick up the unfinished pieces and get the book DONE! This book will be the Bible on the OCS much like Rudy’s book on CR caboose’s is. Wes Reminder has come on board as Co-Author and it will be published by The Garbely Publishing Company. (Wes also thought it was time to get this book done after seeing the caboose book.) We have quickly made great progress and will keep pushing forward. The research is primarily done. Now time for the photos, stories, and so much more that will show the personality of this train. It was used in so many ways and it had a life of its own. AMTK 498
Amtrak 498 with the SB Illini was moving like the proverbial "bat out of" on the ICG near Gilman, IL. Unit was later Conrail OCS unit 4020, now restored to PRR 5809. Date approximate.
