| This is a view looking east at the former rail-road bridge across Bayou Teche at Breaux Bridge, LA. This enabled the SP to serve the sugar mill visible on the right on other side of the Bayou. At one time this line continued east to the Mississippi River at Anchorage, and trains got into Baton Rouge via a ferry. Breaux Bridge is still served by the Louisiana & Delta, but the tracks no longer cross the bayou here. |
