U50 locomotives #31 - 33 were delivered to the UP in Oct 1963. This shot looks somewhat similar to a color UP publicity photo that shows the #32 leading #31 and #33 on a train with shiny UP boxcars. The location of that photo is North Platte, NE. Perhaps this is one of the photos staged prior to the color shot?
