Travis Bowers General 4160 is the first ever GP-7 ever built, and you can go and see it at the Illinois Railway musiem, and she is in operation, and is moveable under her own power!!! 6/28/2008 10:51:14 AM
Tim Fennell General For clarification, IRM owns several Geeps. C&NW #4160 is not the first GP7 Demo unit, it is a former Rock Island unit. C&NW #1518 is in fact the first GP7 and has been at the museum since the mid-1980s. However it has been tucked away in Barn 2 undergoing restoration work. This is not to be confused with Southern Pacific #1518, the first SD7, which is also a part of IRM’s collection. 7/10/2016 9:55:40 PM
