My Wife Saw It First....  Contributor's Pick!
She was driving and saw movement in a line of trees bordering the CN(IC) line. Soon thereafter the crossing signals activated. This is the lead unit of the 2x daily CN manifest from Fort Dodge IA to Council Bluffs and back. What is truly exciting is that usually this train runs in the dead of night. So this was a treat and in fact the start of a great drive home.

Joe Usselman General still has really good paint on it. 4/20/2007 2:06:17 AM
Allan Love Jr General Good catch Rick. You got lucky. 4/20/2007 8:22:36 AM
Robert Garton General That is a lucky catch; I'm familiar with the barreness of this line. I've only ever caught one before and it was well after dark. A neat place to have caught this would have been near Woodbine where the UP and CN/IC lines cross via bridge. But this is cool, too. :) 4/20/2007 8:56:26 AM
Ron Moraca General Cool photo, Rick. This is the cleanest GTW GP38-2 I've seen, bar none. Come to think of it, it's the cleanest GTW unit I've seen, period. 11/27/2007 12:48:37 AM
