Tim Huemmer General Interesting. Maybe some clues here: http://www.trainweb.org/emdloco/5200.htm serial 5236. Says CGW 103D sold for scrap to PNC, then MKT traded it in order 7192 (an order for GP40s) 3/14/2007 4:27:27 PM
Tim Huemmer General Sounds like some fancy footwork to me, lets buy scrap locos and trade them in to EMD!! 3/14/2007 4:28:12 PM
Marty Bernard General Well, look at it this way, seldom do we see a stand-alone picture of a B-unit, much less in a snow storm, and much much less part of a scam. 3/14/2007 5:14:26 PM
Jim Bruce General this looks like an F3B. 9/21/2008 2:20:38 PM
Marty Bernard General As best I can find out it's an F5B, blt 2/49, Bldrs #5236 9/21/2008 10:16:51 PM
Jeremy MacPherson General I wouldn't really call it a scam, many railroads made these sort of deals. Components like the trucks could be reused to construct the GP40 units saving the RR some money. EMD would take just about anything in trade if it meant getting an order. 5/20/2012 7:38:35 PM
