| Built by EMD in February of 1955 as Western Maryland GP9 #29, the tall nose was chopped down in October of 1964, renumbered in 1976 as the Chessie roster as WM #6404 and painted in what is nicknamed the "Circus" paint scheme. . The loco was traded into EMD in 1985. This appears to be a photo after the trade in as it sat in an Akron, OH, during its travel back to Illinois. No exact date was given nor any photographer's name. |
