Built by Baldwin in August of 1900 as Chicago, Milwaukee & St Paul #1158, it was a Vauclain compound 4-6-0 ten wheeler. The loco was renumbered many times during its life - in 12/1905 to CMStP #890, renumbered in 9/1912 to CMStP #4137. simplified & renumbered in 12/1915 to CMStP #2387, renumbered in 11/1920 to CMStP #2369 and finally renumbered in 8/1938 to CMStP&P #1158. After nearly 53 years of service, the loco was scrapped in June of 1953. Simplified specs - 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 20x26" cylinders, modest engine wt of 155,500 lb and modest tractive effort of 25,257 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
