| Looking northwest at the East Jefferson Street crossing, the curving double track is disappearing from Orleans. At one time, Orleans played an important role in the Monon - a branch veered off torward the resort towns of French Lick and West Baden, IN. The trackage to those towns has long sicne been removed for decades. Now the mainline of the Monon in town will be gone. |
