Here is where the train will begin the long descent up the Blue Ridge escarpment to Afton where it enters the Blue Ridge tunnel beneath the Rockfish Gap. The western portal will put the Cardinal in the Shenandoah Valley on the way to its next stop in Staunton. On this Friday train #5129 is running 20 minutes late. |
